Authentic Thai food in the heart of Durham. Set in a fun street food style, Zaap offers a range of classic and less well known Thai and South East Asian dishes. Lots of dishes to choose from, with a good level spice on offer at the top end. The starter platter is a great way to try a range of flavours. Pair it up with a Chang beer for a taste of Thailand. Great place for a relaxed family meal or a daytime date.

I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant for the first time this past weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the decor was very well thought out and designed. There were many food options to choose from, and everything was freshly made in the open kitchen.

Zaap Durham blew me away! The food was insanely bursting with flavor in every bite. I seriously couldn’t stop eating! The staff were amazing, super friendly, and fun to chat with. The whole vibe of the place was so lively and welcoming, it felt like a little food party! I had the best time and can’t wait to go back. If you love Thai food (or even if you’ve never tried it), you NEED to check this place out!

Had a great experience visiting Zaap Durham yesterday! Great variety of dishes to choose from. Ordered vegetarian pad see ew, pad kee mao and Tom yum. They were freshly cooked, served pipping hot, and packed with flavour! Noodles were beautifully wok tossed and were of generous portion. For the Tom yum I would love it to be more tangy, sour and spicy with more lemongrass and galangal :) Also had pandan pancake for dessert and it was filled with gooey pandan custard that’s not too sweet Will visit again next time and try their non-vegetarian dishes too! Friendly staff members worth a shoutout as service was great and I’m sure they take food hygiene seriously. I saw them regularly disinfecting food preparation surfaces and washing their hands before handling food which is a huge plus. Thank you and keep up the great work x

What a great place! We had an eye on it during the shop fitting and dropped in today for lunch. Fantastic vibe, with Thai street vendor themed decor, great friendly service, wide menu and wonderful food. Loved the Thai crackers and pork. Will be back.

Wow! This restaurant is amazing, we were looking for food and we stumbled upon ZAAP, just can’t recommend this restaurant enough, it’s very bright and vibrant the staff are very welcoming and professional and the food was 10/10, you can see the kitchen from the restaurant area, very clean and tidy! Facilities were super clean and our food was well presented and delicious! from 12-6pm weekdays menu you can get a starter, main course and a drink for 15 which is great value, you can choose from an alcoholic drink / bubble tea etc.

Thai food at Zak Thai is an experience EVERYONE should have. We came here for my best friend’s birthday dinner and it truly made it a special experience with the mouthwatering aroma, delicious Food, ambient atmosphere and most of all welcoming staff. I got the Pad Thai Bo Ran which was a beautiful dish with the best flavours of Asia. Definitely coming again!!

Overall: Food: Thai A clean sweep of 5 stars primarily because the service was excellent. From the warm greeting, to the table service and funky interior along with a ‘can do attitude’ when asking to sample the wine made it a great experience. The food was delicious and freshly food prepared in an open kitchen in front of you. All served up at a very reasonable price point. We will definitely be back.
